Got Questions
Everything you need to know before your first drip — and a few things you probably didn't think to ask.
Safety & Care
Every IvyRevive infusion is administered by a qualified New Zealand nurse. All sessions are led by a Registered Nurse — Enrolled Nurses may assist under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse at all times. We do not use technicians or beauty therapists.
All treatments are also prescribed and medically supervised by a registered NZ physician, our Medical Director.
Yes — when administered by a qualified nurse using pharmaceutical-grade compounds, IV therapy is a well-established wellness modality. All our compounds are prepared by a licensed NZ compounding pharmacy to pharmaceutical standards.
A brief health consultation is completed before every session to confirm the treatment is appropriate for you. Certain drips require additional screening — for example, our high-dose Vitamin C drip requires a G6PD blood test beforehand.
If you have any existing medical conditions or take regular medication, we recommend speaking with your GP before booking.
Before your appointment you'll complete a brief Pre-Treatment Health Declaration Form — a short online questionnaire covering your medical history, current medications and any allergies.
Our prescribing Medical Director reviews this and signs off on your treatment before your nurse arrives. On the day, your nurse will also do a quick verbal check-in before starting the infusion.
Yes. All our IV compounds are freshly prepared by our licensed NZ compounding pharmacy. They operate under strict pharmaceutical standards and supply under Section 29 of the Medicines Act 1981 (NZ).
This means you're receiving properly prepared, labelled and traceable pharmaceutical compounds — not generic off-the-shelf products.
We ask that you disclose pregnancy or breastfeeding on your health form. Some treatments are not suitable during pregnancy. Please also speak with your LMC or GP before booking — we want to make sure any treatment is right for you at this stage.
Appointments
Most drips take 85–105 minutes in total, which includes setup, the infusion itself, and pack-down. The actual infusion time is typically 55–75 minutes depending on the drip.
Our NAD+ drip (The Cardrona Comeback) is the exception — allow 2–4 hours, as the infusion rate is slowly titrated to your comfort throughout.
Yes — same-day appointments are available subject to nurse availability. Enquire as early in the day as possible to secure a spot. We'll always do our best to accommodate you, especially during peak season.
A few simple things will make your experience more comfortable:
Eat a light meal before your appointment — arriving on an empty stomach can cause light-headedness.
Drink water beforehand — being well hydrated makes cannulation (inserting the IV) much easier and more comfortable.
Wear loose sleeves or something with easy access to your arm.
That's it. We handle everything else.
For general wellness, most clients have a drip every 2–4 weeks. Some opt for a single session during a holiday or after a big event. There's no hard rule — it depends on your goals and how your body responds.

Travel within central Queenstown and Wanaka is included in the drip price. For locations further out — such as remote holiday houses — a small travel surcharge may apply. We'll always let you know upfront when you enquire.
Yes — group bookings are very welcome and one of our most popular requests. We can accommodate multiple people at the same location, back to back or simultaneously.
Get in touch via the enquiry form and tell us how many people, your location, and your preferred date/time. We'll sort the rest.
